FASTag Will Be Implemented On Yamuna Expressway Soon
The latest highway to get FASTag setup is Yamuna Expressway. So, if you choose to go on a road trip or two more trips from Delhi to Agra, apply for the tag if you haven’t already. Let us tell you that FASTag is a part of the digital payment concept.
Well, this concept of digitizing everything including toll collection is in full swing in India. It is also so prominent in the automotive world as earlier FASTag was made mandatory across India from 1st January. But, it is a different story that the deadline was extended till February 15. With that clear, here is a small glimpse about the FASTag venture.
Fastag Pan India:
Many tolls across the country are either ready or almost ready to go FASTag.
This is the scenario for the later Yamuna Expressway where it is anticipated that it will be ready before February 15.
Number-wise, around 40,000 vehicles (not exactly) ply on this 163-km-long route.
Before entering the digital world, tolls were denied electronic payment on this expressway.
This led to long queues which was wasting the precious time of the passengers.
This is indeed a positive initiative to reduce this wastage of time.
Other Digital Solutions:
Firstly, the FASTag application is continuously updated which provides new features to the users.
It also includes a color-coded status that can diagnose the balance in your wallet.
- Green – indicates active tag with sufficient balance
- Orange/Amber – Indicates low balance
- Red – Indicates that the
Tag is for a Blacklisted Tag
Also, soon FASTag will be mandatory for getting new third party insurance. This will come into effect from April 1 this year.
